Fashion x Brexit - Fashion Roundtable's 1st Anniversary Event at Bistrotheque 21/11/2018

We are honoured to be hosting our 1st year anniversary event at the iconic Bistrotheque owned by our friends, the super talented Pablo Flack and David Waddington. Yes, on 21st November Fashion Roundtable will be one year old.

We launched last 21st November, with a dinner at Hoi Polloi - Bistrotheque’s sister venue - so it seems apt to be hosting our event with them this year. Last year, we had the Secretary of State for Digital, Culture, Sport and Media (ie Fashion’s First Minister) Matt Hancock MP (now Secretary of State for Health) confirmed to attend, as well as 6 other cross party MPs, so far, so exciting, only for a 3 line whip for the first of the Brexit votes to be called that afternoon, as is the way with the often very last minute.com world of parliamentary votes. Defying the 3 line whip is considered mutiny, it’s serious: meaning the party was our lovely friends, including Sarah Mower MBE, Frances Card, Emma Hart, Valery Demure and Maria Lemos - and 0 MPs. It was a lovely evening nonetheless, but it was a shame not to have them there and be able to communicate what we want from the Brexit deal.

Trust us, they know now! We have been sure be clear about what you our community want, across all our meetings in Whitehall, Westminster and Brussels ever since; as we know this is the issue of a generation, wherever you are in the global fashion supply chain. There was an apt alchemy that we as we had lost our parliamentary colleagues to a whipped vote on the very topic which concerns so many in the industry.

96% of you voted Remain and with that in mind, we wanted to bring your concerns to the centre of this anniversary event. Especially as by then we might finally have some clarity on the deal or whether we are looking at No Deal and therefore be able to decode what this means for you, your business, our fashion futures.

We have a fantastic list of confirmed speakers, including Zowie Broach Head of Fashion at The RCA, fashion legend Cozette McCreery, Professor Swati Dhingra Associate Professor of Economics at LSE, UK In a Changing Europe’s Navjyot Lehl, designer and campaigner Katharine Hamnett CBE and journalist and Vote Leave campaigner Tom Harwood. Thanks as well to all our allies and associates. If you would like to buy a ticket, we would love to see you! Please click on the link here. Thank you!
