The Great British Wool Revival Christmas Shopping List + Fashion Roundtable's Best of Woolly Moments Across 2025
Did you know the price of British Wool rose 27% since we launched last year? Coincidence? We think not!
The Great British Wool Revival is celebrating many of the amazing brands working with British wool and in support of ‘Made in the UK’ principles.
🎁 With Christmas approaching, finding gifts that provide quality and craftsmanship using local fibres can be overwhelming. That’s where we come in. Our mission at GBWR is to celebrate and support British farmers, British wool and everyone in the fashion and textile world keeping these traditions alive.
🐑 Whether you are looking to buy a tweed jacket or jumper or a smaller purchase such as socks, head over to the GBWR website and check out many of the brilliant brands that are championing British wool.
If you are struggling to identify if something is a true British wool, here are some pointers to help you along the way:
🧶 Look at the item’s description and it should tell you that it was made using 100% British wool and where it was made (ideally in Britain). It might also indicate what sheep breeds were used in the process.
🧶 If you are buying products using wool from British Wool (the largest farmers led organisation and auctioneer) then look for the British Wool crook mark.
🧶 If any products say that they are made from wool, but do not specify what type of wool and use wording like ‘spun in Scotland’ or ‘or spun in Ireland’ then there is a high chance it is not British wool.
🧶 If you are in any doubt, then do reach out to the brands and businesses directly and they will point you in the right direction.
Keep in mind that genuine British wool products are typically upfront about their origins. They celebrate local wool and local breeds without the need for any greenwashing jargon.
