Come to see us at Groundswell, THE leading regenerative agriculture festival.
For Tamara, this is as exciting as a PFW Chanel Show!
Come to the largest festival for Regenerative Agriculture, Groundswell and see our talk on Wednesday 2nd July at 10am at The Study.
The talk’s title is: “The Great British Wool Revival: Rebuilding from farmer to fashion.”
The panel will discuss The Great British Wool Revival, which remapped a broken system from farmer to designer. Established by Fashion Roundtable with The King’s Foundation and YNAP, alongside their Modern Artisan programme in September 2024, to promote British wool and to give farmers an opportunity for income generation from their wool, which for all too many was seen as waste or a byproduct. In 6 months we have seen 200 businesses join the map and “The Dumfries House Clip” scarf, which used wool from Dumfries House, sold out in under 48 hours! The session will also discuss regenerative fashion and what this looks like from field to final product.
Dumfries House, where our speaker Alex Reynolds is Farming and Rural Skills Education Manager.
More about our Speakers: Alex Reynolds, Farming and Rural Skills Education Manager for The King’s Foundation, based at the MacRobert Farming and Rural Skills Centre on Dumfries House estate, which was opened by His Majesty The King in 2023. Alex has worked across both the farming and horticultural sectors, from land management with The National Trust, to being one of the first appointed wildlife liaison officers with Cumbria Constabulary.
Harriet Fletcher-Gilhuys
Harriet Fletcher-Gilhuys has a range of skills from sourcing raw fleece, spinning her own wool, natural dyeing and mapping end-to-end supply chains from field to garment. As Textile’s Researcher for Fashion Roundtable, she was a lead researcher on the project The Great British Wool Revival. Her masters work from The Royal College of Art focused on British wool systems and analysed both micro and macro supply chains to determine best-case practice in the UK.
Jessica Horton grew up in Hampshire. After exploring multiple art practices throughout her education, she studied Fashion Design at Arts University Bournemouth. She reached the semi-finals of the Redress Design Awards 2023 with an upcycled capsule collection. In 2023/24 she participated in the third edition of Modern Artisan, a collaboration between Net-A-Porter and The Kings Foundation, launching a sustainable capsule collection of woven and knitwear pieces in September of 2024.
Zoe Fletcher at last year’s Groundswell
Zoe Fletcher has a background in knitwear design and academic research focussing on knit experimentation using natural fibres. Founding The Woolist to document her practical research experiments and co-founding The Wool Library, she wants to highlight the positive design potential, connecting regenerative farmers trusted and traceable fibre chains can have within a mindful fashion chain. The Wool Library supported the research of The Great British Wool Revival.
Tamara Cincik, who will Chair the Panel.
The panel will be chaired by Tamara Cincik, CEO and Founder of Fashion Roundtable and Founder of The Great British Wool Revival. Tamara said: “In my fashion career, attending the Chanel show at Paris Fashion Week was always my highlight. The shows were so memorable, for their set design and vision as much as for the clothes and people-watching. The iceberg, the space ship, the supermarket, Karl Lagerfeld always made us think. I am excited to be at Groundswell to be inspired and engage with thought leaders in the regenerative community, which is precisely where I feel fashion, food and farming can and must coalesce.”
