Finding Harmony: A King's Vision
Tamara Cincik on attending the Royal Premiere at Windsor Castle this week.
On Wednesday evening I attended the Royal Premiere of Finding Harmony: A King’s Vision at Windsor Castle. This was the first ever film premiere to take place at the castle. It was a brilliant clear night and of course truly magnificent venue for this film, which pulls together HM the King’s relentless work on the environment and a nature based solutions orientated mindset, the foundation for his work with his charities The King's Foundation Sustainable Markets Initiative and Turquoise Mountain - human stories with a global and local perspective.

The audience was filled with a brilliant mix of royalty, philanthropists, thought and leaders, and celebrities. I was delighted to sit with Stuart Banks and his lovely mother Margaret, whose own story features in the film, and is a powerful testimony to the work of the King’s Foundation, and its impact on areas where communities have been left behind. In Stuart’s case, his father committed suicide when Stuart was just 12, and for many years he was housebound, suffering from severe depression. As Stuart started to seek work across a long period, he was eventually told by the local Job Centre about the 5 week hospitality training at Dumfries House, which he undertook. In the film Stuart relays that something clicked. In doing so, this has transformed his life. Stuart was then offered a job at Dumfries House, and has built a successful career leading the hospitality training course, as well as working across weddings, events and functions, and when HM the King is in residence, Stuart is his chosen butler. You could not meet a nicer person, and a very moving testimony to the power of being given access to opportunities, which enable you to reach your potential.

Cumnock, the local town to Dumfries House, has suffered severe deprivation since the mines closed. An issue HM the King understood, and through the work the King led in buying, restoring and regenerating Dumfries House, as well as ensuring the gardens are free and open access. The site is now the second largest employer in the region. As well as the HQ of The King’s Foundation and trains numerous people each year through their fantastic and diverse training programmes.
Windsor Castle on Wednesday
When I attend events, I consistently aim to support and showcase British fashion design. Particularly, British female designers. On Wednesday I wore a dress by Roksanda, with shoes by Manolo Blahnik and carried a 1960’s vintage bag I have owned and enjoyed for years.
On my way to Windsor Castle in a dress by Roksanda, shoes by Manolo Blahnik - supporting and showcasing British fashion talent.
I am so proud of all the work we do with The King's Foundation - for whom I am their Fashion Fellow - as I truly believe in this ethos of Harmony and have seen first hand the incredible impact it has on people and planet.
