Come to the Fashion Awards 2025

Last night I attended the Fashion Awards at The Royal Albert Hall as a guest of the British Fashion Council. I always try to wear British and/or female brands for events. Here I am wearing a Roksanda dress, Prada shoes and my bag is red velvet vintage.

Here are some photos and thoughts from my time last night.

Brunello Cucinelli is an inspiring example of the power of business as a driver for positive social impact. He focused on artisanal cashmere knitwear and moved the company’s HQ to Solomeo on the outskirts of Perugia in the 1980s. He has restored and built offices, factories and a theatre in the locality as well as landscaping the gardens and retaining a principled view on production carried out entirely in Italy and mainly in the region of his headquarters. Brunello is inspired by his belief in “humanistic capitalism”which places the importance of the wellbeing of staff as crucial to the wellbeing of the business and its economic stability.

Last night he received his award from the legendary actress Sharon Stone.

Dame Anna Wintour on giving The Special Recognition Award to Delphine Arnault from LVMH. I have to say as the daughter of hairdressers, I was also taken to the business at all ages and would also know the prices and footfall of our competitors. So I feel Delphine’s experience while obviously defining, is shared by all of us who had entrepreneurial parents.

We were awash with a litany of goddesses giving awards, Iman, Cate Blanchett, Sharon Stone and Sienna Miller looking radiantly pregnant in white.

Great to hear that the Fashion Awards raised £1m for the British Fashion Council Foundation last night. Double the year before.

What I would LOVE to see at future awards is an award for Sustainability, another for Making in the UK, and lastly another for Using British Textiles.

What do you think?
