Fashion Roundtable were invited to take part in The Sustainable Angle’s Future Fabrics Expo where we hosted a stall. I was moved to see our leaflets and work being shared by our amazing stall team with all those who attended.

“Ahead of his time” is a phrase that defines Gaultier, with collections that were some of the first to blur the accepted lines of gender. Not only did he challenge gender stereotypes, but he did it in the best way possible by subverting classic male dominated outfits like suits.

Milan has become much more exciting this season in menswear. They’ve embraced the importance of individuality in their collections— more colour, more new shapes. Meanwhile, Paris went into a genderless mode without speaking the word. It showed how the beauty in menswear can be taken a bit further without losing its identity.

As New York Fashion Week approaches, the landscape of American fashion faces the most turbulence compared to any other of the fashion capitals. From Tom Ford now opting to show his latest collection in Los Angeles, to the bankruptcy of beloved Barneys after almost a century in the retail business.

BECTU is the creative industries part of the trade union Prospect. Trade unions are just colleagues at work who join forces to get better treatment at work. As we approach the end of a decade, Vogue magazine has its sights clearly focused on the next. Earlier this month, Vogue announced the launch of Vogue Values. A shared mission statement from all 26 editions of Vogue that represent the global vision and commitments that the titles will be collectively implementing.
